Hello, I’m Wasuntara Kantayo, or Looknam, currently working at MFEC as a Business Development and Partner Alliance in the Information Security team.
This year, I had the opportunity to be part of the Cyber Sec Pro project once again, now in its second year. Cyber Sec Pro was established by the Information Security (InfoSec) team as a valuable opportunity to showcase advanced solutions and insights in cybersecurity. The event not only helps clients understand potential future threats but also builds their confidence in selecting the best technologies and tools to safeguard their organizational data. I was honored to be entrusted by Mr. Kokanok (Senior Information Security Director) and Mr. Damrongsak (Chief Cyber Security Officer) with the role of Project Manager for the inaugural Cyber Sec Pro event. My role involved coordinating and managing every aspect of the project to ensure its seamless execution and overall efficiency. I was grateful for the invaluable guidance and support I received from senior team members throughout the journey. For Cyber Sec Pro 2, I built on the lessons and feedback from the first year to enhance project management, though the heightened expectations added to the pressure.
“Seeing participants truly benefit from the event made all the hard work worthwhile. It was fulfilling to know that we gave back the best possible experience to the community, which motivated us all to strive for even greater success in future events.”
The organization of Cyber Sec Pro 2 was filled with challenges and close collaboration among the entire team. It not only focused on educating customers about cybersecurity but also aimed to create a high-quality event that would benefit participants in the long term. The entire process reflected our passion for the work, professional management, strong teamwork, and the commitment to giving valuable experiences and knowledge to the participants from start to finish.
1. Planning and Preparation – Passion & Professional
The entire team’s passion for their work and determination to make Cyber Sec Pro 2 the best it could be were the key to its success. Cybersecurity isn’t just about technical aspects; it’s about providing participants with valuable knowledge that can be practically applied. Every team member paid close attention to every detail, from selecting the topics to presenting, inviting speakers, designing the learning experience, and creating up-to-date content that meets current needs.
2. Teamwork
The success of this event could not have been achieved without strong teamwork. Every team member had a clear role and contributed to important decisions, from choosing topics and content to managing the event logistics and technology. We all relied on each other, whether it was assisting during challenges or listening to feedback and suggestions. In the period leading up to the event, we spent a lot of time working closely together to ensure everything was prepared and perfectly executed.
3. Being a Giver – Giving Back to the Community
One of the key challenges of Cyber Sec Pro 2 was making the event not only beneficial to participants but also about giving them knowledge and skills they can apply in their everyday lives. Every team member was driven by a desire to help others, especially in promoting cybersecurity, which is crucial for individuals and organizations in today’s digital world. The dedication of the team in delivering the best experience for participants was a way of giving back valuable knowledge and contributing to society at large, enabling everyone to better defend against and manage cyber threats.
4. Problem-Solving and Flexibility
Throughout the process, the team faced many challenges, from technical issues before the event to adapting plans to accommodate a larger-than-expected number of participants. Every team member was flexible and able to adjust to the situation without losing focus on delivering a high-quality event. Working under pressure, we demonstrated our passion and professionalism, ensuring the success of the event. Effective communication and quick coordination within the team were vital to keeping the event running smoothly.
5. Results and Shared Success
After the event concluded, we all saw the outcome not only in terms of successful event management and positive feedback from participants but also in the pride of having worked hard together to achieve the goal. Each member played an essential role, and seeing participants benefit from the knowledge they gained and applying it to their organizations was the greatest reward. The sense of fulfillment from providing something valuable to society motivated us to push forward and continuously improve for the next event.
“The day of the event was a moment filled with excitement, challenges, and satisfaction from seeing everything unfold according to the plan we had set.”
Everyone on the team worked hard to ensure everything was perfect, and the fact that we were able to handle the challenges that arose during the event was a great achievement.
The event started early in the morning, with the team gathering at the venue well before the scheduled time to prepare for all aspects. Everyone had an important role to play in making sure everything was ready before the event began, especially the technical team, who had to check the equipment for the presentations and the on-site registration system, which was a major concern. They also re-checked every step and coordinated with all parties to ensure there were no issues that might arise during the event.
Once the event began, everything proceeded as planned: the registration, addressing any issues or questions from participants, and ensuring the schedule was followed. There were a few problems throughout the day, such as minor system issues, schedule changes, and delays due to rain.
As the event went on, what mattered most was taking care of the participants. Every team member worked to ensure the participants felt well cared for, from the registration process to providing guidance during the event, answering questions, and ensuring there were enough resources available. This was all part of the team’s careful preparation and their commitment to providing the best service.
When the event concluded, the final image was of a tired but proud team, satisfied with their accomplishments. The feedback from participants and partners was positive, and the success of the event was not just about executing the activity well, but also about building strong relationships within the team, with clients, partners, and all parties involved. This made the event a success and allowed us to create a positive experience for all attendees.
“Having the opportunity to work on Cyber Sec Pro 2 was an experience that helped us grow.”
Both in terms of work and personal development, we gained valuable lessons in careful planning and preparation, teamwork with strong collaboration and coordination, immediate problem-solving, and adaptability in unforeseen situations. We recognized the importance of prioritizing participants, sharing knowledge, and developing leadership skills in decision-making and team management. Additionally, evaluating results for future improvement proved essential. Receiving feedback and learning from mistakes has boosted our confidence in managing future projects and has empowered us to continually improve our work processes.
